What are some recommendations for Mexico City?

  • Casa Azul (Frida Kahlo Museum) in Coyoacán
Frida’s iconic cobalt-blue home is an absolute must-see!! It’s where she was born, lived, and died. The museum houses her personal belongings, original artworks, clothes, and the lush courtyard where many of her pieces were created. You’ll need to buy tickets online ahead of time!

  • Mexico City food tours

    • I really recommend this food tour for anyone that is Veggie or Vegan! The host was amazing, we got tons of steps in, and learned so much about Mexico City’s history and politcs during this tour

  • Paseo de la Reforma & the Alebrijes Exhibition (late October–early November)
In late October through early November, Reforma transforms into an outdoor gallery of monumental alebrijes, colorful papier‑mâché sculptures. 100% must see!

  • Explore Chapultepec Park
Located right next to the Intercontinental, this enormous "forest" in the heart of the city is one of the largest urban parks in Latin America. Wander shaded walkways, rent a paddle boat on the lakes, visit Chapultepec Castle for panoramic views, and check out world-class museums—including the National Museum of Anthropology and the Modern Art Museum. Don’t miss the zoo, fountains, and ephemeral exhibitions scattered throughout the park

  • Xochimilco & canals
Cruise colorful trajineras, enjoy mariachi serenades, and try delicious snacks from passing boats. It’s a vibrant and playful way to spend half a day :) Let us know if you’re going, we may tag along because we’ve never been!!

  • Two incredible day trips (by bus):

    • Teotihuacán Pyramids (~45–60 mins by public bus): Climb the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, explore ancient avenue, maybe join a temazcal ceremony and dine in a cave restaurant.

    • Tepoztlán (~90 mins by bus from Terminal Tasqueña): A charming “pueblo mágico” with a mountaintop pyramid hike (El Tepozteco), artisanal markets, and relaxed temazcal/spa options.

  • If you like to shop.. there is so much good thrifting and cool LatAm fashion all around CDMX!

Are children welcome?

Children are welcome at the Sangeet! For the wedding and reception, we kindly ask that little ones stay back at the hotel with babysitters. Our wedding planner highly recommended a company we will be working with. Reach out to Ekta or Colm if you want to arrange for childcare.

Will there be vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free food options?

Yes! There will be plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options at all events. If you have any specific dietary needs or allergies, just let us know.

What will the weather be like in November?

November is one of the best times to visit Mexico City — usually sunny (fingers crossed) with warm days and cooler evenings. That said, we recommend bringing layers, especially for the outdoor events in the late afternoon or evening.
